If you're someone who likes being social and wants to meet new people, Soul & Surf is the place for you. It has a really chilled out atmosphere. Their ideas of entertaining guests are unique and not very Indian. They would offer you pizza while you watch a movie in their own cinema. They would play specially made music for you during bonfire and barbeque. It’s simply fun. Surfing and yoga are, of course, the main highlights of the property. The only problem is that the accommodation is not very luxurious. Some amenities may be lacking. But again, this place is not about the accommodation.
Soul & Surf in Varkala is located in an astounding and secluded cliff-top spot having lush gardens and offering breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. It is a heritage property right next to the quiet and serene beach which has plenty of hang-out spots. The modern block at the back offers accommodation that is simple yet stylish. Rooms are also available in the traditional home. They may not be very spacious, but the private veranda more than makes up for it. Outside these rooms are small and beautiful patches of gardens overlooking the ocean.
At Soul & Surf, it's not really about the accommodation. It’s about getting to know new people who've come from different parts of the world, it's about cherishing sunset yoga sessions, surfing the wonderful coastlines of the Varkala, enjoying bonfire and barbeque in the gardens and much more. There are many restaurants near the beach but Soul & Surf has its own little cafe called 'Soul Food Cafe'. They serve breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks throughout the day, most of which have international flavours rather than the local taste.
