Much of Kerala’s traction in terms of tourism comes from its sprawling natural beauty and scenic sites spread out evenly across the whole state. But on the flip side, this is also complemented by Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, seeped into tradition. This is preserved by museums, but more significantly by the many cultural festivals and shows that take place all year round in Kerala – including the Onam festival, Thrissur Pooram, or the famous Cochin Carnival upon New York’s eve. There are also quite a handful of theatres and cultural centers that host semi-regular weekly shows with traditional Kerala dance, music, and theatre in Munnar, Cochin, and Thekkady. You can learn more about these centers in detail from our list at Experience Kerala.
