The Cochin Cultural Centre promotes itself as an organisation for propagation and preservation of Kerala’s ethnic culture, art, ancient costumes and props. It organises daily Kathakali shows and coaching classes in various disciplines of Kathakali.
The Cochin Cultural Centre displays professional Kathakali performances. The main artists are really good actors, who add to the professionalism of the show. Although the make-up demonstrations are too elaborate, you might find it interesting if you're an art enthusiast.
The Cochin Cultural Centre, established in 1978 works in the field of Art, Culture and Entertainment industry. The Cultural Centre is managed by a team of experienced and creative professionals.
The Cultural Centre opens at 5:00 PM with a make-up demonstration of the Kathakali artists, while the actual stage performance starts at 6:00 PM and lasts for about an hour. The entire show is divided into three parts viz; a prayer, introduction with English narration and finally, the play itself. The artists perform on all days of the week.
In addition, the centre conducts regular coaching classes in various disciplines of Kerala's ethnic art forms. It also organises custom-made cultural performances according to the interests of the guests. The centre has two air-conditioned performing theatres with a maximum seating capacity of 200 seats.
