Visitors can view and understand the behaviour of elephants, ride on them and enjoy the scenic beauty. At the training centre, they discipline or train the baby elephants rescued from adverse conditions. They are taken care of with special diet and exercises.

There are about 7 – 8 elephants at the centre. An elephant museum has also been set up which is a storehouse of information on these mammoths. Visitors, especially children are quite amused by the playful behaviour of the baby elephants. They can even play with the baby elephants. An interesting fact about the elephant training centre is that the elephant dung is recycled to make paper. There are outlets near Aanakoodu for selling forest products like honey and sandalwood.
