  • Lal Bagh: - It is a botanical garden, spread across 240-acre and is home to over 1000 species of flora and a majestic glasshouse built on the lines of London's Crystal Palace. It derives its name "Lal Bagh" from a collection of red roses that bloom throughout the year there. The park is known for its annual flower show, with a captivating show of over 200 varieties of flowers. The show also features an exhibition of hybrid vegetables. The Lal Bagh Rock, dates back to 3000 million years, is another attraction.

  • Cubbon Park: - It is located in the heart of the city and spreads over 300 acres. Many ornamental and flowering trees, both exotic and indigenous, can be found in the park. It's a popular place for walkers, joggers, and nature lovers. Bal Bhavan in the park is a great place for the kids to enjoy. The park is also known for its kids train.

  • Jayaprakash Narayan Biodiversity Park (JP Park):- It is on an 85-acre site at Mathikere in the north-west area of Bangalore. The park has four lakes, lawns spread over 25 acres, over 250 varieties of trees and shrubs can be found there all the time.

  • Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace:- Tipu Sultan’s Fort (aka Bangalore Fort) was initially built as a mud fort by Kempe Gowda. The Fort has witnessed the struggle of the Mysore Empire against the British.Within the fort is Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Islamic art adorns the interiors of the palace. There are two floors in the palace with balconies, chambers, four small rooms and a large hall. Paintings and murals on the walls depict and narrate the stories of bravery and chivalry of the Sultan and also portrays his hatred towards the British.

  • Bangalore Palace: - Built in 1887 by Chamaraja Wodeyar, Bangalore Palace is inspired by England's Windsor Castle. This beautiful palace has Tudor style architecture, with fortified towers, arches, green lawns, and elegant woodcarvings in its interiors.

  • Vidhana Soudha: - One of the most famous landmarks of Bangalore, the Vidhana Soudha houses the State Legislature and the Secretariat of Karnataka. Built in 1956 in the 'Neo-Dravidian' style, incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic, Rajasthani Jharokha and Dravidian styles. The magnificent white building is spread over 60 acres of land. It is also the largest Legislative building of India.

  • Attara Kacheri, (Karnataka High Court):- This two-storied building, built in 1867 under the reign of Tipu Sultan, and is painted in red with Corinthian columns in Gothic style architecture. It's located at the entrance to Cubbon Park, and houses the High Court and many lower courts.

  • Government Museum: - It houses rare collection of archaeological and geological artifacts including old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions. The museum is also home to the Halmidi inscription, the earliest Kannada inscription ever found (450 AD).

  • Kempegowda Museum: - It is dedicated to Yelahanka chieftain Kempegowda (1513-1569) who is the founder of Bangalore city. The museum is located on the first floor of Mayo Hall. The museum has Kempegowda's statue as well as posters and pictures of forts, temples, reservoirs and inscriptions from his time.

  • Karnataka Folk Museum is located in a 15-acre campus at Kumara Park West has an excellent collection of Folk puppets, costumes, utensils, instruments, weapons and masks. Folk music collections and dance videotapes.

  • HAL Aerospace Museum: - It showcases the growth of the Indian aviation industry and HAL for six decades. The Museum is maintained by HAL (one of Asia's largest Aerospace companies). The museum houses displays of various aircraft and helicopters, Aircraft engine models, Flight simulators, a mock Air Traffic Control Tower and exhibit of Indian aviation history.

  • Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum: - It is a must visit for people who want innovative way of spending quality time together. Each of its floors are dedicated to a scientific discipline including an engine hall, electro-technical gallery, fun science gallery, space gallery, science for children gallery and other attractions. This is an interactive museum that helps kids understand the basic principles of science.  IT boasts of the taramandal show for stars, the dinosaur model and loads of other do-it-yourself experiments. Activities for the visitors' include sky observation programme, science demonstration show, popular science lecture and a commemorative programme. 

  • Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium: - It is one of the five Planetariums named after India's first prime minister. It counts amongst the popular tourist attractions of the city. There is a sky theater inside the planetarium, with a huge dome that has a diameter of fifteen meters. It has a seating capacity of 225 and serves as the venue for two shows of astronomy on a daily basis. The timings of the show are 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm, with the exception of Mondays. The shows held here are extremely good and provide a good view as well as factual knowledge on astronomy.

  • Ulsoor Lake: - The beautiful Ulsoor Lake is spread over an area of 125 acres. Boating and swimming pool are the great attractions of the lake.

  • Dodda Alada Mara: - It is a big banyan tree located in Ramohalli (28 km away). This tree covers 3 acres (12,000 m2) and is one of the largest of its kind. It is at least 400 years old.

  • Bugle Rock (Kahale Bande): - It is a massive rock situated in Basavanagudi which is an abrupt rise above the ground of peninsular gneiss as the main rock formation and with an assessed age of about 3000 million years.

  • Nandi Hills : - It is a hill fortress of southern India, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is located just 60 km from Bangalore. Nandi Hills offers a surprise of breathtaking scenic beauty and excellent climatic condition. Nandi Hills, at the height of 4851 feet above sea level is the most popular picnic spot. It gets its name from an ancient Nandi temple situated on this hill. This temple has a thousand year old sculpture of Nandi. An ancient lord Shiva and Parvati temple also adorns this hill.

  • Bannerghatta National Park: - It is situated 22 km south of Bangalore. This hilly place is the home for one of the richest natural, zoological reserves spread across 25,000 acre. It is one among the few places in the world where wilderness is preserved so close to a big city. It is having different units such as Zoo, Safari, Butterfly Park and Rescue Center.

  • Butterfly Park: - Spread across 7.5 acres of land, this park comprises of a butterfly conservatory, museum and an audio-visual room.

  • Lumbini Gardens: - It is an eco friendly public park on the banks of the Nagawara Lake near Hennur. It has a swimming pool, rides and water boating facility.

  • Wonderla: - It is an amusement park located near Bidadi, 28 kilometers from Bangalore. Wonderla is a synonym to fun and masti. Wonderla Bangalore with its 61 thrill packed rides is sure to delight all age groups.

  • Innovative Film City: - Innovative Film City is novel, among places to visit in Bangalore. It is an amusement and theme park with go karting, and stage and studio facilities. It has a good collage of different themes to appeal to both grown-ups and kids all in one place for a day long outing.
