With an altitude ranging from 467 m to 1572 m, Nelliyampathy is a serene and picturesque hill station located close to the Palakkad Town in Kerala. The hill station has spectacular view points, majestic mist-clad peaks and sprawling tea and coffee plantations. The road leading to Nelliyampathy has many hair pin bends that make the journey all the more interesting. Close to Nelliyampathy is a famous dam called Pothundy Dam. The catchment area of the dam is a great picnic spot. It offers facilities for boating as well.

The Nelliyampathy Hills are famous for their orange farms and tea estates. Tourists can visit these farms and get a glimpse of how bio-farming is done. The hill station offers wonderful opportunities for trekking. The magnificent view from the view points of the hill station makes the trek worthwhile. There is a 100 m high waterfall in Nelliyampathy which is certainly a must-visit attraction. Apart from on-foot treks, tourists can try jeep safaris. The safari can give you an opportunity for spotting exotic birds and animals like elephants, Indian gaur, giant squirrel and if you're lucky enough, leopards.
