The Rose Garden in Ooty is located on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram at an elevation of 2200 metres above sea level. It was laid out in May of 1995. With more than 20,000 varieties of roses, the Ooty Rose Garden is considered to be one of the most beautiful rose gardens in the world. There are five curving terraces in the garden. Each of them has a wonderful arrangement of roses. The Rose Garden is maintained well by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department.

The Rose Garden is Ooty has a stunning display of colourful roses. The number of varieties of roses you will find in this garden is simply going amaze you. Although it gets crowded, the garden is a must-visit attraction, especially for rose lovers. It is maintained quite well with nice walkways and a beautiful arrangement of flowers and creepers.

Established in May 1995, the Rose Garden in Ooty is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hills in Vijayanagaram at an elevation of 2200 metres above sea level. It is home to a staggering 20,000 varieties of roses. Spread across an area of about 10 acres, the flowers are arranged in five curving terraces. The garden is taken care of by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department. It is now one of the most attractive rose gardens in the entire world.

The Rose Garden features tunnels, walkways and bowers decorated with rose creepers. There is an observation platform on the slopes of the garden. It is called Nila Maadam. From that point, tourists can get a panoramic view of the entire garden. There is also a remarkably sculpted statue in the garden. The roses are arranged to form different shapes and forms that are sure to surprise the visitors.

Because of Ooty's pleasant climate, the plants there have a long blooming season. This is one reason why Ooty's Rose Garden has become more popular than other rose gardens in the country. The flowers are in full bloom during the months between March and June.
