Alleppey is caressed by the Arabian Sea in the west along with an exquisite network of lakes, lagoons, rivers, and estuaries with 41 west-flowing rivers, five large lakes, which stretches to almost 1,900 kilometers extending virtually through the entire length of the state. A one night cruise on the backwaters of Alappuzha is one of the most popular cruises offered. The cruise is a round trip in which you board the boat at Alappuzha and disembark at Alappuzha after having spent the night in the tranquility of the backwaters. While cruising, you will skim past backwater villages, traditional fishing operations, local ferries, ancient Chinese fishing nets, renowned snake boat races in onam season, lush paddy fields, coir villages, rustic homes, temples and coconut groves etc. The houseboats are provided with all modern amenities. They have an open sit out, a sunbath deck, a spacious living area, a kitchen, bedrooms with attached bathrooms. A T.V with a DVD player is also arranged. The choice of menu is handed over to the guests.
