The Athirapally falls have a splendid atmosphere. It’s not only the falls that are majestic, but also the entire area around it. You get beautiful views from almost every spot near the waterfalls. Unlike the other waterfalls in Kerala, the Athirapally falls never dry out.

Athirapally Waterfalls are one of the best waterfalls in India and one of the most famous tourist destinations in Kerala. It is an ideal weekend getaway from cities like Kochi, Coimbatore and Munnar. The overall experience of travelling to these falls is enthralling. The road to Athirapally falls is adorned with beautiful palm and coconut trees. There is 2-kilometre trek to reach the falls. The roaring sounds of these falls, the mist over the rushing water and the natural beauty all around will surely steal your heart away. You can reach the top of Athirapally falls with a 15-minute walk from the entrance.

At the top, you get spectacular views of the Sholayar hills and a unique view of the waterfalls. A 10-minute trek down the falls will take you to the bottom where the greatest beauty of the waterfalls can be experienced. Swimming is possible in the stream at the bottom of the Athirappilly falls. The falls never dry out and can be visited anytime during the year. Though the waterfalls appear in full glory during monsoons, heavy rains can cause great inconvenience. So, the best time to visit is from September to January.
